Donna Wies is an independent consultant working with nonprofit organizations and water utilities in the areas of board governance, strategic planning, performance measurement, facilitation, succession planning and organizational effectiveness.
Since 2009, Donna has helped community benefit organizations identify their strategic objectives, measure progress achieving their mission and improve the effectiveness of their Boards and business processes.
Donna was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She worked for Union Sanitary District in the East Bay for 25 years. As the District’s Organizational Performance Manager, she directed the District’s strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts.
Donna has a Bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley, Certificates in Nonprofit Management and Quality Management, and is a BoardSource Certified Governance Trainer.
Donna participates in several national groups involved with quality and utility management, including the Water Environment Federation Utility Management Committee. She served on the Advisory Group that developed the Effective Utility Management Primer and is regularly asked to present workshops and papers on effective utility management.
